Some trees with codominant leads and weak branch unions can split apart due to included bark and ice infiltration. In order to both prolong the lifespan of these trees, and to protect people and structures near these trees, we can install cabling to brace against damage from wind and weather. Depending on the situation we will use either EHS steel cable, or a dynamic synthetic cable to reinforce these trees. Regardless of which material we use, cables will be installed without negatively affecting the health of the tree.

He brings a wide range of work experience - from farming and building to landscaping and excavating - to his work, combining his work ethic with his passion for climbing and ecology. Derek founded Weiss Tree Care, LLC in 2024.
ISA Certification is a voluntary program that tests and certifies a professional’s achievement of a standard level of knowledge and skill in the field of arboriculture. When a professional becomes an ISA Certified Arborist, they should be recognized by their peers and the public as a tree care professional. Maintaining certification requires the arborist to attend continuing education seminars and to stay up to date with the most current research and techniques for best management practices.
The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) is the gold standard for tree work professionals all across the globe. Derek is a certified arborist and member of the New England chapter of the ISA. The ISA provides opportunities for continued education and advancement, for the general public and professionals alike.

Weiss Tree Care took down a large maple next to our house and cut it up for use as firewood. They also dropped several standing dead in our woods. They were very responsive and showed up when expected.
